Mary E. (Tully) Rice of Melrose, Marblehead and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, died Sept. 9, 2022. She was 97. Rice was the beloved wife of the late John C. MHS volleyball bests Peabody in straight sets

Marblehead High's girls volleyball came out strong over Peabody Sept. 13, winning in straight sets, 25-16, 25-20, 25-19. For Marblehead, this was a huge comeback win against the reigning Northeastern Conference champions, and also a dramatic improvement after last week's NEC loss to Beverly. Keira Sweetnam continued to dominate Marblehead's offense with 16 kills, three aces and eight digs. The Marblehead High School girls' volleyball team evened its record at 1-1 on Sept. 8 by beating Bishop Fenwick in three sets, 25-9, 25-24, 25-13. Senior outside hitter Keira Sweetnam led Marblehead's offense with nine kills, and Madison Cole added in another four kills. Isabel Wabno had eight digs.
