OBITUARY: Lee Bartlett Weed, 83

Lee Bartlett Weed, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, steadfast friend to many and a lifelong and proud ‘Header, passed away at her home on Nov. 15 at 83 years old. Lee was born in Marblehead on April 7, 1940, to Doris “Snooks” and Charles “Dubby” Bartlett. She attended the Gerry School and Marblehead High School, where she met the love of her life, Barry Francis Weed. They graduated together from MHS in 1958.  Lee graduated from The New England Baptist School of Nursing in 1961 and began work in her hometown at the Mary Alley Hospital. Glover "Peter" Preble Jr., 89, beloved husband of Joyce (St. Pierre) Preble, died Nov. 6 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by his family. Glover 'Peter' Preble Jr., 89 Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Glover B. Sr. and Lillie E. (Cutler) Preble. He was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and attended Northeastern University. An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Naval Reserves. Karl A. Johnson of Marblehead died Sunday, Nov. 5. Karl was born March 4, 1943, in Warwick, Rhode Island. He is survived by his wife, Beth. Last month, they celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary. Karl A. Johnson Karl attended Warwick High School and graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1967. He later received his master’s in education from Boston State. For several years, he taught at the high school level in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. During his summers off, he was a carpenter. Peter Makepeace Coxe passed away peacefully under hospice care on Nov. 5 due to complications from a stroke. Despite his increasing disability in recent months, he displayed his trademark qualities of kind-heartedness, composure and dry humor right up until the end. We will miss him dearly. Peter Makepeace Coxe Peter was born in Montclair, New Jersey, on March 8, 1941, to Dorothy Makepeace Coxe and Gerald Murray Coxe. Carol Arnould, 76, died peacefully on October 25 in her Marblehead home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. William “Spider” Healey, 83, of Marblehead passed away peacefully on Oct. 19, 2023. He was the son of Josephine Canavan of Ireland and Daniel Healey of Marblehead. Obituary: Carol Anne Talbot, 76

Carol Anne Talbot (St. Pierre) died on her 76th birthday on Thursday, Oct. 12, after a battle with dementia. She was born on Oct. 12, 1947, at JB Thomas Hospital in Peabody, and was a lifelong resident of Marblehead. Carol and her husband of 42 years, Arthur “Buddy” J. Talbot Jr., were married in 1981 and had two children, Michael and Kathryn. Carol was proud to have raised her two children in the same place in which she grew up, often sharing stories of her time growing up with her sisters and friends in town. OBITUARY: Norma Dickson Hourihan, 95

Norma Dickson Hourihan, 95, died peacefully, comforted by her family on Oct. 11, 2023. The daughter of John Walfred Dickson and Gladys Monahan Dickson, she was born in Somerville on May 13, 1928. At the age of 5 the family moved to Marblehead where she remained a resident until her death. A graduate of Marblehead High School in 1946, she earned her Bachelor of Arts from Connecticut College, New London, Connecticut in 1950 and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Salem State College in 1966.
