On the evening of July 6, a crowd gathered on the sidewalk outside of the Warwick Theater, buzzing with excitement and anticipation before the premier of the student-made feature film “Gilded Lily.” Then, more than two dozen teens who helped make the movie walked down a red carpet to cheers, camera flashes and clapping from the crowd.  The premier of the 90-minute film attracted dozens of families and friends of the cast and crew who came to see the students’ work on the big screen.…

Marblehead capped off an incredible July Fourth, celebrating the nation's 250th birthday, with a spectacular Harbor Illumination and fireworks display. At least 1,000 people gathered at Crocker Park to watch the pyrotechnics and listen to live music. People lined the harbor to see the show from different vantage points. As a thick blanket of fog settled over the harbor Sunday, sailors — many decked out in bright pink — boarded their boats and sailed to the mouth of Marblehead Harbor for the fifth annual Fast Mermaid Pursuit Race. On Wednesday morning, May 20, the raised gardens on Community Road were buzzing with activity, as preschool students spent the morning digging in the earth, planting vegetables and learning about gardening from their teachers. Soon, the fruits (and vegetables) of their labor will be delivered to the Marblehead Food Pantry by the Manna Project to provide those struggling with food insecurity with fresh produce.
