Marblehead capped off an incredible July Fourth, celebrating the nation’s 250th birthday, with a spectacular Harbor Illumination and fireworks display. At least 1,000 people gathered at Crocker Park to watch the pyrotechnics and listen to live music. People lined the harbor to see the show from different vantage points.

Here’s a video of the show at Crocker at about 9:30 p.m.
At about 9:30 p.m., what appeared to be a large fire could be seen across the harbor at the Eastern Yacht Club. The Current has reached out to Chief Jason Gilliland and will report updates as they come in.

Rain postponed the fireworks for about 10 minutes, but they were worth the wait. The show lasted about 15 minutes and hundreds of fireworks were launched from a barge at the mouth of Marblehead Harbor.
