Marblehead fire, police to hold Sept. 11 ceremony

The Marblehead Fire and Police departments will join departments nationwide in conducting a remembrance ceremony at 10 a.m. on Sept. 11 at Memorial Park.

The occassion will mark the 22nd anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and subsequent losses suffered at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania.

The ceremony will be part of a nationwide salute to fallen firefighters, police officers and civilians, and to the extraordinary response to tragic events that have changed lives.

The Marblehead fire and police departments invite local leaders and community members to participate in the service as a way to pay tribute to the lives lost on 9/11.
