12:42 p.m. An officer spoke in the police station lobby who had been the victim of a scam while trying to help her mother buy a sewing machine on Facebook Marketplace. The seller, who used the name “Tina Franks,” had been paid $1,350 through the payment app Zelle and $690 through Venmo on March 31. The officer said he would document the incident and that the woman could request a copy of the report for her records.
5:57 p.m. An officer went to Ramsay Road to speak to a man about threatening messages he had received over Snapchat from a friend. The man showed the officer his phone and observed that the friend appeared to be looking for money. The officer found that there were no specific threats in the message chain, though the Ramsay Road resident did state in one of the messages that he did not want the friend and his other friends coming to his house. The resident then mentioned in the Snapchat thread that he had called police to document the event. The officer advised the resident to call police again if anything else occurred.

5:58 p.m. An officer spoke at the station with a man who over the weekend had purchased an iPhone 15 from a man on Facebook Marketplace. After giving the man he knew only as “Robert” $270 for the phone, he found out that the phone had been fully locked by the previous service provider, Verizon. The man had contacted Verizon, but the company was unable to unlock it. The man’s efforts to contact Robert failed when Robert blocked him and deleted the Facebook post about the phone. The man described Robert as being about 50 years old, 6-foot-1, with a gray-and-black buzzcut, beard and blue eyes.

7:16 a.m. An officer, firefighters and an ambulance crew responded to the scene of a vehicle crash on Highland Terrace.
10:38 a.m. An officer investigated a complaint about a moving vehicle on Atlantic Avenue and Commercial Street.
12:26 p.m. An officer spoke by phone with a woman whose vehicle had been parked at Marblehead High School the previous Sunday morning during the Marblehead Half-Marathon. Sometime during the event, her iPad had been stolen from her vehicle. She explained that she had let a family member use her keys to retrieve something from the vehicle, so she could not say for sure whether the vehicle had been locked at the time of the theft. The last “ping” on the device from the day of the event showed its location as Pleasant Street on a parcel that abuts the MHS parking lot. The iPad thereafter either ran out of power or was turned off, as there were no more pings. After taking the woman’s report, the officer went and searched the high school parking lot near the Pleasant Street property and was unable to locate the iPad. He then went to a residence on Pleasant Street and spoke with the tenants of both units, who both stated that they did not have any iPads. The information was shared with detectives.
