In-person early voting approved for June 9 override, election

On Thursday, the Select Board approved three days of in-person, early voting leading up to the town’s June 9 election, when voters will decide four override questions as well as races for Select Board, School Committee and more.

In-person, early voting will be available at Abbot Hall the following days/times:

— Tuesday, June 2, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
— Wednesday, June 3, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
— Thursday, June 4, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Earlier in the day, the Board of Registrars voted unanimously to recommend in-person, early voting. Town Clerk Robin Michaud had initially said tight staffing might make it too difficult.

Absentee voting is also available both in-person and by mail, with applications due five business days prior to the election. Mail-in ballots must be returned by 8 p.m. on election day. The deadline to register to vote is 10 days before the election, May 29. Voters can register online or in person.
