NEW at 8:28 a,m. The Marblehead Municipal Light Department now says power has been restored to much of Marblehead. Anyone still without power should call MMLD at 781-631-5600. The cause of the outage is still under investigation.
Much of the town is without power Thursday morning.
“It’s a large outage and we are troubleshooting,” Marblehead Municipal Light General Manager Jon Blair told the Current.
“We saw the faults basically townwide,” Blair added. “Some customers have been restored through automatic action. Others remain out.”
Blair said the outage hit at about 7:20 a.m.
