Richard M. “Richie” James, age 66, passed away in Marblehead on Sept. 27, 2022. Born on Sept. 26, 1956 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the middle son of the late Richard “Dick” and Margaret (Morgan) James of Marblehead and Stuart, Florida.
He graduated from Marblehead High School in 1975 and spent his career in the airline industry, starting at northwest in Boston, then in Minneapolis for over 20 years.
Richie was passionate about sports and played football in high school and college, and was active in softball and golf as an adult.
He was a cherished friend to many, a caring and dedicated father to Ashley and Jonathan, and loving brother to Bill and Peter. He is survived by several cousins, a niece and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Oct. 7, 2022, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Eustis & Cornell of Marblehead, 142 Elm St. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Reception to follow at the Masonic Temple from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
