More than 150 people turned out Friday evening for the fourth annual Culture Feast at Marblehead High School, sponsored by METCO. Families enjoyed food truck fare as home-cooked meals from around the world. Marblehead and Boston families sat in the MHS cafeteria, as well as the area out back, enjoying food and conversation. About 150 Village School sixth-graders made the trek to Camp Bournedale on Cape Cod last week, as part of their annual VillageXperience — a trip packed with hands-on learning, outdoor adventures and meaningful connections. Students participate in classes such as pond studies, rocketry, adventure, marine lab, geocaching and canals. “These classes gave students the chance to explore science in the real world and work together outside the classroom,” said Jonathan Heller, the Village teacher who organizes the trip. The School Committee is set to meet Wednesday at 9 a.m. to vote on a contract making John Robidoux the district’s permanent superintendent. Robidoux signed a two-year, interim contract last July, and requested this spring to be made permanent. More than 100 Glover School students showed off their skills at a STEM Fair on Thursday evening. "What a great night," said Principal Frank Kowalski. The co-presidents of the Marblehead teachers union sharply criticized the School Committee Thursday evening for debating a proclamation (that it later approved 3-2) to “strongly caution” against using educational resources related to Gaza and antisemitism from the Massachusetts Teachers Union. The Village School is rallying around a sixth-grade student who has been recovering at Boston Children’s Hospital and a rehabilitation facility after an acute medical crisis in April. I’Zayah is in sixth grade.
