The School Committee is set to meet Wednesday at 9 a.m. to vote on a contract making John Robidoux the district’s permanent superintendent. Robidoux signed a two-year, interim contract last July, and requested this spring to be made permanent.
The School Committee conducted a mid-cycle evaluation of Robidoux and discussed the results in a May 15 meeting, giving Robidoux positive marks. A copy of the review could not be found on the committee’s website. Chair Jenn Schaeffner did not respond to a request for a copy of the review or details of a new contract.
Robidoux’s interim contract paid him $208,000 for the first year.
Since beginning last summer, Robidoux has dealt with a contentious 11-day teacher strike, several lawsuits against the district (which predate him) and an antisemitism investigation that cost $61,649 — more than double its approved cost. That investigation found no evidence to substantiate multiple claims of antisemitism in the district.
