It was a great start to the 2026 season for the Marblehead High golfers, who defeated Masco at Tedesco, 40.5-31.5 on Sept. 3.
Coach Bob Green’s team won five of its matches outright, led by co-captain Greyson Leventhal. He had the lowest overall score of the day, shooting a 36, while beating his Chieftain opponent, 5.5-3.5.
Pete Ryan and Will Macrina each shot a 38, while also winning their respective matches by identical scores of 5-4. Teddy Dulac doubled up his opponent, 6-3 after shooting a 42. Wesley Puleo shot a 48 to secure similar results, 6-3.
Co-captain Tyler Forbes, (37) and Max King (39) tied their matches, 4.5-4.5, but Colby Moore (37) lost in a heartbreaker, 5-4.
The Magicians were scheduled to play three matches this week, all at Tedesco, and they were all wins. They defeated both non-league St. Mary’s of Lynn (Sept. 8) and Beverly (Sept. 9) by the identical score of 43.5-28.5, before beating Peabody going away, 66-6.
