The Marblehead High School football team enjoyed another winning season last year, ending up with an 8-3 record that included going 1-1 in the Division 4 Super Bowl playoffs. In recognition of excellence in athletics and arts among the MHS student body, the Sterny’s Way scholarship committee awarded 2026 graduates Kai Rozinsky and Ryan Angilly with the coveted annual awards. These scholarships honor the memory of David Stern, a former Marblehead Youth Sports coaching legend, who was also a strong supporter of the arts. There will be a whole new coaching staff next spring in the Marblehead High girls tennis program.  Marblehead High girls tennis assistant coach Bill Ackerman, head coach Tracy Ackerman and JV coach LuAnn Gabel, from left, recently announced they were stepping away from the courts as coaches following another successful spring. We’re only over a week into soccer’s World Cup teams invading North America, and there are already a couple of observations that stand out in the early going. First and foremost is Team USA’s fast 2-0 start in Group D with wins over Paraguay (4-1, June 12, in Los Angeles) and Australia (2-0, June 19, in Seattle).
