Sit for Peace
Thursday, Sept. 10, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Following the community’s well-attended Walk for Peace this past May, Volunteers for Peace are inviting residents to gather once again — this time in stillness — for a Sit for Peace at Devereux Beach. 

Spirit of ’76 Patriot 5K Run
Saturday, Sept. 12, 9 a.m.

Come one come all and walk/run/ruck to raise money and awareness for PTSD. September is Suicide Awareness Month. Veterans are at 72% higher risk of suicide than those who haven’t served. This 5K will raise money for Company to Heroes to help support training of service dogs for veterans. After the run, there will be food at the Marblehead VFW.

Ghosts & Consequences walking tour
Saturday, Sept. 12, 6 p.m.

Ghosts & Consequences is an adults-only walking tour that moves through the town’s oldest streets, quiet lanes and historic burial grounds. You’ll pass weathered headstones and centuries-old homes while hearing the real stories that shaped Marblehead — the kind of stories that don’t always make it onto postcards. Trails & Sails history series
Sunday, Sept. 13

Marblehead historian Judy Anderson will lead several programs on Marblehead history,  including:

  • Noon-1:30 p.m.: Marblehead’s most famous loyalist 
  • 2-3 p.m.: Tour of WPA murals and “Spirit of ’76” painting 
  • 4-6 p.m.: Marblehead at the time of the Revolution

Jazz at the Arts: Christine Fawson Quartet
Thursday, Sept 17, 7 p.m.

The Marblehead Arts Association and Gene Arnould present a performance by the Christine Fawson Quartet as a part of their Jazz at the Arts concert series. 8 Hooper St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $35. marbleheadarts.org.
