Your art could become the face of the 2027 Arts Festival

Every year, a local artist creates the logo that becomes the face of the Marblehead Festival of Arts, appearing on everything from T-shirts and signs to promotional materials. Now, the festival is looking for its next winning design.

The festival is inviting artists who live, work, attend school or belong to an arts association in Essex County to enter its 2027 logo contest.

The competition is a tradition dating back to the festival’s founding, with a new, one-of-a-kind design selected each year.

“The 2027 Festival logo will appear on merchandise, signage, web pages and so much more, and will be used not only at our legendary summer arts festival, but also at events throughout the year, including our film festival, champagne reception and fundraising events, just to name a few,” organizers said in a press release. “It will become a part of Festival history!”

Judges will select semifinalists from the submissions, and the Festival’s board of directors will choose the finalists. The public will then vote for the winning design during the annual Artisans’ Holiday Marketplace at Abbot Hall in December.

The winning logo will be unveiled at a premiere party in January 2027, and its creator will receive a $150 cash prize.

The submission deadline is Monday, Nov. 30, at 5 p.m. The entry fee is $10, and artists may submit up to three designs.
