Marblehead firefighters put out barn fire Monday

Marblehead Fire crews put out a barn fire at 72 Pleasant St. Monday afternoon. There were no injuries and the cause is under investigation.

Police and Fire dispatch received multiple 911 calls about the fire. Fire Chief Jason Gilliland was first to arrive on scene and reported a “40′ x 40′, two-and-a-half-story barn with a walk-out basement, with fire showing from the first floor,” according to a statement by MFD.

The fire was contained to the first floor.
