Richard Mulombre, of Marblehead, is the winner of a $1 million prize on a Powerball ticket purchased in Massachusetts for the multi-state game’s Saturday, July 18, drawing that featured a $526.4 million jackpot.
Mulombre won the prize after the first five numbers on his Quic Pic ticket matched those selected in the drawing. He claimed his $1 million prize (before taxes) Thursday, July 23, at the Massachusetts State Lottery’s Dorchester headquarters. He said he plans to put the winnings towards retirement.
His winning ticket was purchased at Quisqueya Food Mart, 34 Union St in Lynn, while he was waiting with his kids for a pizza order nearby.
