Kent Wheeler, a Marblehead High School social studies teacher for the last five years, has been named the new athletic director at MHS, replacing Greg Ceglarski. Wheeler has served as an assistant baseball and football coach at MHS.
Wheeler is the founder and coach of the Marblehead/Swampscott American Legion Post 57 Baseball Mariners. He is also the District 8 American Legion baseball state chairman.
Wheeler sits on the Marblehead Youth Baseball Board of Directors and was the senior director of sports at the Lynch/van Otterloo YMCA in 2018.
He started in his new position on July 1.
