Just after 2 p.m., Marblehead Police reopened the Causeway.
“Be patient as the Highway Department is still out clearing debris from Front Street and Beacon Street,” MPD posted to Facebook. “Make sure to check your basements for excessive water and call 781-631-1212 if you need assistance.”

Marblehead Police have announced that the Causeway will close at 11:15 a.m. Other streets that will be closed for the high tide are Front Street at Franklin Street towards Ft. Sewall, Beacon Street in the vicinity of Grace Olivers and likely Atlantic Avenue near Seaview.
“Please avoid these areas and never drive through deep water!” the police urged in a post on Facebook.
Today’s high tide is at 12:15 p.m.
“We can’t open the Causeway until the road has been cleared of debris,” MPD wrote. “There is a possibility that it might not be open until 2 p.m. or after.”
The National Weather Service has declared a flood watch for the area until 7 p.m. and a wind advisory until noon.
