Interfaith prayer vigil set for Sunday amid violence in Israel, Gaza

The Marblehead Ministerial Association, along with several other groups, is holding an interfaith prayer vigil on Sunday, 3 p.m., at Star of the Sea Church, amid the violence in Israel and Gaza.

“The goal is to give some room for lament and grief and truth-telling and to use the tools of our traditions to transform those things from a place of hopeless to a place where we might begin to see the seeds of pece and what a just peace would look like… and also to just gather and show one another that in spite of all the calls for division we are actually as a community, one,” said Rev. Jim Bixby of the Clifton Lutheran Church and Marblehead Racial Justice Team.

Bixby continued: “Most people on planet earth want the same things and they don’t want hate, they don’t want murder. They want to see the mutual flourishing of their fellow human beings.”
