Our consulting editor, Kris Olson, has been a professional journalist for 25 years, 14 of which were spent serving as editor of the Marblehead Reporter from 2000 – 2015. He is a staff writer for Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.

Joe McConnell is a 25-year award-winning veteran sports editor, who has covered the Marblehead sports community since 2008. Joe has reported on major sports events including the Little League World Series for the Boston Herald. His specialty is to feature the individual athlete beyond the box score, and what makes them who they are in games.

Freelance reporter/photographer Grey Collins

Collins is an award-winning photographer and reporter who started at the Current as an intern. He is set to graduate this May. He became interested in photojournalism and journalism during a school project when he interviewed senior citizens in town.
Freelance reporter Bella Travaglini
Bella Travaglini began her career as a professional journalist over 20 years ago, starting as a staff reporter for the Danvers Herald and moving on as a correspondent for the Boston Globe, boston.com and other North Shore publications.

Freelance reporter Akanshka Goyal

Goyal has experience covering politics, education and community news. Previously, she investigated congressional travel for The Associated Press in a project that won a 2024 IRE Award and reported on state government through the Boston University Statehouse Program. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from Boston University.
Freelance reporter Luca Tedesco
Tedesco is a recent graduate of UMass Lowell and a freelance writer for the Marblehead Current. A native of Winchester, he was the play-by-play hockey broadcaster on 91.5 FM WUML, Lowell, the UML student radio station, and now covers news and sports for the Current. When not covering a story, he can be found umpiring baseball.

Endicott College journalism intern Saoirse Stallings

Stallings is an Endicott College senior, studying communications and digital journalism. She is from Melrose and hopes to go into journalism and public relations after graduation. She is most interested in writing feature stories.
