Marblehead Racial Justice Team member Lou Meyi has been named an honoree for the 10th annual Peter J. Gomes Service Award, created in 2016 by Congressman Seth Moulton. The award recognizes the public service and community contributions of constituents across the 6th District. Meyi has been a racial justice advocate for decades, living in Marblehead for over 40 years before moving to Salem recently. Once a month, you may notice something unusual outside 204 Atlantic Ave. It’s a line of people outside a garage, waiting their turn for some coveted pies from Diana Breed, Marblehead's own “Pie Lady.” Breed and her friends started a pie club this summer. The first sale in July and featured all blueberry-flavored pastries. Manna Project launches new garden to feed local hungry families

On a recent sunny morning, about 20 preschoolers got their hands dirty — for a good cause.  The North Shore’s Manna Project, which supports people facing food insecurity, launched a new garden at Temple Sinai on Community Road to grow fruits and vegetables for the Marblehead Food Pantry. The Marblehead chapter of Wreaths Across America welcomed people to Waterside Cemetery on Saturday to lay holiday wreaths on the graves of veterans. Today's event was organized by longtime Marblehead dispatcher Teresa Collins. Wreaths Across America started in Arlington National Cemetery in 1992. Today marks the 54th annual Earth Day, but the celebration started early here in Marblehead. On Saturday, April 20, the Marblehead High School National Green School Society raised $770 in an Earth Day 5K. The students will donate the money to local environmental causes.
