Crocker Park dock repairs still weeks away

Swimmers and waterfront visitors hoping for a quick return of the Crocker Park dock may have to wait.

The dock, a popular fixture along Marblehead Harbor, was damaged during a heavy rainstorm on July 6.

Harbormaster Mark Souza said a permanent flotation log beneath the dock broke free.

The town has issued a request for proposals for repairs, with bids due Aug. 13. After a contractor is selected, work can begin on restoring the structure.
