At about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, approximately 5,700 Marblehead residents had cast votes in today’s election that will decide an historic, three-tiered property tax override, as well as races for School Committee, Select Board and more.
Compare that to the total turnout in last year’s municipal election — 6,621. In other words, with three hours left to vote, Marblehead had already approached the total turnout seen in the entire 2025 election.
The Current checked with wardens in each district, tallying the number of votes so far — just before the after-work crowd. Polls are open until 8 p.m.
An election official at Abbot Hall said the totals include “about 70%” of early and absentee ballots, which are still being processed.
Here are the numbers from each precinct:
1 — 993
2 — 1108
3 — 695
4 — 885
5 — 949
6 — 1078
Residents in precincts 1-2 vote at Abbot Hall. Residents in precincts 3-6 vote at the high school field house. To find out your precinct, click HERE.
