Local reporter shares Pulitzer

Nate Raymond of Marblehead is part of the Reuters reporting team that won the 2026 Pulitzer Prize for national reporting for its series, “The Revenge of Donald Trump.”

The series, produced by a staff of 17 reporters, documented “President Trump’s historic campaign of vengeance,” Raymond told the Current. The series examined the growing threats judges face amid heated political rhetoric.

“You can see Elon Musk on Twitter criticizing judges,” he said. “Trump called for a judge to be impeached. That sort of rhetoric fuels actual threats.”

Raymond has been a legal affairs correspondent for Reuters since 2012, starting in New York City. He and his wife moved to Marblehead in 2023.

Raymond said the project was the largest investigative effort he has worked on since joining Reuters.

He learned about the Pulitzer while commuting home from a court hearing in Boston.

“I missed a phone call where some announcement about this was made, but people started messaging me: ‘Did you know your name was just mentioned as a Pulitzer winner?’ I said, ‘What?’”

Raymond and his wife are raising their two daughters, ages 6 and 3.

Asked how he celebrated after learning he had won the prize, Raymond said, “My wife and I went to Town Meeting.”
