OBITUARY: Anne Brayton Remington, 92

Anne Brayton Remington, 92, passed away peacefully at home on April, April 26, 2026. She was a long-term resident of Marblehead.

Anne was born on June 29,1933, and graduated from Needham High School and the Chamberlain College in Boston with a business degree. She spent her first year out of school working in the city and saving up for a three-month trip to Europe. Her two roommates became lifelong friends.

After having three children, Anne went to work for Samson Ocean Systems as a sales manager in Boston for many years and later decided that she wanted to be closer to home. Anne went to work for Baltic Yachts as an office manager in Marblehead and after for Caribbean Yacht charters. She enjoyed working at the Newport Boat show every year and sailing in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands.

After she retired, Anne enjoyed volunteering for The Friends of Abbot Public Library, Arts Association, Marblehead Garden Club, My Brother’s Table and other nonprofits.

Anne loved to ski, sail, play tennis and golf. She also loved to travel, visiting such countries as New Zealand, Morocco,Turkey and Peru. However Anne’s all-time favorite activity was spending time with her many friends talking and laughing. She will be sorely missed.

Anne is predeceased by her parents Rayford and Louise; brother Alan; sister Jean; and beloved daughter Pamela.

She is mourned deeply by her daughter Karen, son Jonathan, her many nieces and nephews and spoiled and demanding cat Gigi.

A memorial service for Anne will be held at St. Andrews Church, Lafayette St. in  Marblehead on Friday, May 15, at 10:30 a.m.

Donations can be made to the Marblehead Animal Shelter and you may bring a flowering plant for the altar if you wish.
