Marblehead boy’s Make-A-Wish set for Sunday

Four-year-old JJ Weiss loves superheroes. And this Sunday, March 29, Make-A-Wish is coming to Marblehead to make JJ’s superhero dreams come true.

JJ is battling medulloblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. (The Current wrote about JJ last year HERE.) His family, Marblehead Police, local businesses and Make-A-Wish have partnered to create a day-long event called “Super JJ Saves Marblehead.”

JJ will go on several missions around town and then celebrate with friends and family at Seaside Park.

According to the Make-A-Wish website, “The villain Triple Z is lulling residents to sleep with his evil lullabies so that he can take over the town. We need Super JJ, 4, and his teammates — brother Luke, 4, and sister Ellie, 18 months — to stop Triple Z using their superpowers.”

See JJ’s crime-fighting schedule below. The community is welcome to cheer him on along the route or at Seaside Park at 1 p.m. Learn more at massri.wish.org/superjj.

JJ’s wish to be a superhero marks the 11,000th wish fulfilled by Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island, which grants life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Last spring, Make-A-Wish celebrated Marblehead student Ashley Triscuit with a community party and a backyard tree house.
