NEW on Monday at noon: The town of Marblehead is alerting residents that the snow emergency parking ban will remain in effect until Tuesday at 7 a.m.
By Monday at 9 a.m., a major storm had dumped at least a foot of snow in Marblehead, with several more inches predicted to fall through the day.
A snow emergency parking ban remains in effect until Tuesday, 7 a.m. Marblehead schools and municipal buildings will be closed on Monday due the storm. Abbot Library and the Council on Aging will also be closed.
