Santa arrives in Marblehead; Christmas Walk in full swing

NEW Saturday morning

Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived by lobster at Marblehead’s State Street Landing this morning, greeted by hundreds of cheering kids and adults. The merry couple is now listening to holiday wishes from local children. Marblehead’s Christmas Walk is in full swing. Look below for the full schedule!

Friday night fun

Hundreds of people gathered in below-freezing temperatures on Friday night for one of Marblehead’s most beloved traditions — the annual tree lighting across from National Grand Bank. Carolers from Marblehead schools sang classics including, “Jingle Bells,” “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer” and “Feliz Navidad.”

Mrs. Claus did the honors flipping the switch on the tree. She arrives with Santa Saturday at 9:15 a.m. via lobster boat at State Street Landing where the merry couple will greet kids and their parents. The Christmas Walk parade steps off at 11:45 from the same spot. See the full schedule below.
