The tradition began 25 years ago, when Marblehead High School first organized a drive to help stock the pantry with Thanksgiving items. The Village School joined the effort 18 years ago, followed by the Brown and Glover schools, creating a town wide campaign that has grown year after year.

On the morning of Nov. 24, students helped load cars and trucks for the “Thanksgiving elves” — Mark and Linda Mills, Rob Gorman, Seamus Kraft and Lisa Gorman — who delivered the donations to the pantry’s storage area.

Marblehead High School plans to keep the momentum going with another food collection in January.
