CYCLE FOR GOOD: Cranksgiving a success

Some of the groceries donated during Cranksgiving, organized by Marblehead Cycle owner Dan Shuman.

Marblehead Cycle delivered nearly 200 pounds of donated food to the Marblehead Food Pantry as part of Cranksgiving, a bike ride and food drive held in partnership with seven other bike shops across the North Shore.

Marblehead Cycle owner Dan Shuman launched the effort. In Marblehead, riders met at his Bessom Street shop, cycled to Shubie’s and Crosby’s to purchase items, and then pedaled back to drop off bags of food.

Shuman said he hopes to organize a second annual North Shore Cranksgiving next year.
