Marblehead announced Monday the official debut of its redesigned website on July 29, marking a relaunch after technical problems forced officials to take the platform offline in February.
Finance Director Aleesha Nunley Benjamin sent an email Monday morning promoting the new site, highlighting features designed to improve community engagement and accessibility. The announcement came months after functionality issues emerged with the Feb. 20 launch of the $13,750 redesign.

“We are thrilled to announce the official launch of the Town of Marblehead’s newly redesigned website on July 29th,” Benjamin wrote in the email. “This modern, user-friendly platform is designed to enhance the way we engage with the community, providing easy access to essential information, services, and local news.”
The new website features a streamlined layout for quick navigation, resources for residents, businesses and visitors, up-to-date news and events, emergency alerts and enhanced accessibility for all users, according to Benjamin’s announcement.
Town Administrator Thatcher Kezer previously informed the Select Board that numerous functionality issues emerged with the new platform, including broken links and incomplete information. The town was forced to revert to its original website just two days after the redesign went live.
“We determined that there were too many fixes and updates that were required to be completed by the vendor to be fully functional and informative at this time,” Kezer wrote in his message to board members.
