Sometimes, wishes really do come true.
On Saturday, about 100 people came out to celebrate 9-year-old Sophia Triscuit of Marblehead and learn that her wish for a backyard treehouse was being granted by Make-A-Wish.

Triscuit, a Brown School student, lives with a rare and life-threatening disease that will eventually require a kidney transplant.
The Select Board declared Saturday Make-A-Wish Day in Marblehead and there were festivities throughout the day. Marblehead Police and the high school Interact Club led a walk-and-roll from Seaside Park to the end of the Causeway in the morning. Mud Puddle Toys hosted games, face painting and more in the afternoon.

Mud Puddle owner Cassie Sturdivant welcomed a crowd outside the store and thanked those who took the opportunity to donate to Make-A-Wish and kids living with serious and life-threatening illnesses. There are three other “wish kids” living in town.

“Isn’t Marblehead the best?” Sturdivant asked as people gathered to celebrate Triscuit and Make-A-Wish. “When a kid needs something, everyone comes together and gets it done.”
Triscuit said she was looking forward to having sleepovers, watching movies and beading in her new treehouse.
