Update: Winter storm warning in effect Saturday night through Sunday afternoon

Marblehead is bracing for another snow storm, set to arrive Saturday night. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Saturday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m., through Sunday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m. Five to nine inches of heavy snow are expected.

Marblehead Police announced an overnight parking ban will be in effect Saturday night into Sunday and Sunday night into Monday. Both bans run from 12:01-7 a.m.

“It will be illegal to park any vehicle including boats and trailers on any public way during a declared snow emergency,” MPD wrote in a Facebook message. “Depositing snow and ice, on or against a fire hydrant, or on any sidewalk or roadway is prohibited. To avoid towing you should remove your vehicles from the street before midnight on the day a snow emergency is called.”
