OBITUARY: Virginia Jean Fitzpatrick, 92

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Virginia Jean (Conover) Fitzpatrick of Marblehead, formerly of Suffern, New York. Virginia passed away on July 18. She was 92 years old.

Virginia was born on June 28, 1932 in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from Suffern High School, she completed her college degree at SUNY Cortland. She was a physical education teacher until she chose to stay home and raise her sons. She loved going to all of their sporting events and always had her famous cowbell with her. She was a beloved member of the community and touched the lives of all who knew her.

Virginia is survived by her sons Michael and Andrew (Kim), her daughter-in-law Teresa, and grandchildren, Liam, Ceili and Keira and a host of extended family members and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Harold and Ruth Conover, her brother, Harold Conover, her husband, Frank, her son, Peter and her grandson, Aidan.

A celebration of Virginia’s life will be held on Saturday, July 27, at The Landing in Marblehead from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Comfort Zone Camp or Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in Virginia’s name. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
