Tax Counseling for Elderly, Others
The Abbot Library will host the Tax Counseling for the Elderly Program on Mondays starting Feb. 6 through April 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Reservations for this program will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 17, during regular library hours. To reserve a spot, please call the Reference Desk at 781-631-1481. Please be aware that you will need your last year’s tax returns and 2022 paperwork.
This program is sponsored by the IRS and supported by the AARP Foundation. Its mission is to provide free, essential tax return preparation for low to moderate-income taxpayers, with a particular emphasis on the elderly. You do not have to belong to AARP to use the service, nor is there an age requirement. The TCE program adheres to the strict ethical standards of the Department of the Treasury. It does not discriminate against taxpayers based on race, color, national origin, disability, sex, age, or reprisal.
