Michael E. Waldman, of Marblehead, entered into rest on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the age of 84. Son of the late Philip and Sophie (Aronow) Waldman.
Mike earned his master plumbing license in 1965 and at the time was the youngest master plumber in the state. He soon took over the family plumbing and heating business in the 1960s as a third-generation owner, and the business continues today as a fifth generation-owned family business. He was widely admired and respected by his customers and colleagues for providing compassionate and trustworthy service.
Above all else, Mike’s family meant everything to him. They were the light of his life.
He is survived by his wife Joan with whom he shared 61 years of marriage; his children Jill Murtaugh, Jeffrey Waldman and Ken Waldman and his wife Elizabeth of Natick; his grandchildren, Jake, Riley and Robyn Murtaugh, Casey and Luke Waldman and James Waldman; his siblings Dr. Ellen Fields and her husband Rob of Maryland, Joseph Waldman and his wife Donna of New Jersey, and the late Marjorie Zoll and many beloved nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin St., Salem, on Sunday, July 5, at 11 a.m. Burial at Shirat Hayam Cemetery, Beth El Section, Lowell Street, Peabody.
