Marblehead REV250 walking tour
Thursday, June 11, 5 p.m.
This walking tour with By Lantern Tours explores how Marblehead’s fishermen, mariners and merchants became indispensable to American independence. Walk the harbor streets where citizen-soldiers stepped forward when the outcome was uncertain and the risk was real. Discover how Col. John Glover’s Marblehead regiment executed critical evacuations and crossings that helped save Washington’s army, and how this working seaport town supported the Revolution financially and at sea. Created for the 250th anniversary era, this tour reveals why historians still credit Marblehead with helping change the course of the war.  The tour meets at Crocker Park and lasts 90 minutes. Register at bylanterntours.com.
