A moment from Marblehead’s Town Meeting last night is going viral on social media and beyond.
Resident David Modica stood to speak about the town’s new proposal to comply with the MBTA Communities Act. The plan zones Broughton Road and Tedesco Country Club’s golf course for multifamily housing.
“So, this is a way to comply with 3A without doing any of the 3A stuff?” Modica asked Planning Board member Mark Liebman.

“Are we trying to do nothing?” Modica continued. “Because it seems like we’re doing nothing. So, when we’re preserving, like, the character of Marblehead, it’s like, it’s bad — we’re selfish. We’re doing a bad thing. We’re not doing any housing. Are we kinda being pricks?”
Housing advocate Jonathan Berk shared the clip on X and it quickly went viral.
