Marblehead will host a public information session Tuesday, March 3, on its latest 3A multifamily overlay zoning plan, which will go before voters at Town Meeting in May. The plan includes two multifamily districts at Broughton Road and the Tedesco Country Club site.

The public meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the Marblehead High School library. Residents are encouraged to attend and learn more about the proposal. It will also be available online.

On Feb. 5, after reviewing the latest plan, the state notified town officials that it “did not identify any items that conflict with the requirements of the regulations.”
“This is a very positive first step for the town of Marblehead to finally get 3A behind us,” said Dan Fox, chair of the Select Board. “I look forward to sharing the compliance model with the town through information sessions over the coming month or so. I believe the work has been done to address the concerns with our previous plan and I am hopeful we can pass this at town meeting in May.”
The revised proposal no longer includes zones on Pleasant Street and Tioga Way.
Marblehead is currently out of compliance with 3A requirements, making the town ineligible for millions of dollars in state grants.
