Miles for Mary walk and run

The annual Miles for Mary 5K walk and run, now in its 10th year, has raised over $500,000 and counting toward the brain-cancer research of neuro-oncologist Dr. Elizabeth Gerstner, who works at the Mass General Cancer Center. She studies innovative treatments for brain tumors, with emphasis on glioblastoma.

The event honors Marblehead resident Mary Park, who died suddenly from brain cancer 10 years ago.

Day-of-event on-site registration starts at 9 a.m., and there is also the option of participating virtually by posting a photo to the event’s Facebook page.
