Marblehead Little Theatre gathers to remember Ginny Morton

In her life, Marblehead resident Ginny Morton excelled at recruiting people and delegating tasks for the various Marblehead Little Theatre productions and projects that she led or got herself involved in over the years. Her passion and dedication behind each was contagious, giving others the feeling that their contributions were valued and meaningful to the larger mission. Such were the revisited attributes and traits that surfaced when friends and family members offered remarks during Mortion's celebration of life in MLT on Saturday afternoon. Marblehead Museum & Discover Marblehead to host speakeasy-style soiree

Discover Marblehead and Marblehead Museum invites the public to the Lee Mansion Gardens for the September Soiree: End of Summer Speakeasy on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 6 to 10 p.m. This fundraiser will feature the Jazz duo, the Rubin Brothers, specialty 1920s-themed cocktails by Bubble Bar Boston and heavy hors d'oeuvres provided by Vinwood Catering, fully-stocked cash bar and a raffle of five baskets brimming with Marblehead items and experiences. Marblehead Little Theatre’s fall children’s musical

For ages 7-12 MLT’s Children’s Theater productions are age-appropriate scripted musicals licensed from one of several companies who specialize in children’s theatrical titles. Each child will be cast with a speaking and singing part, usually with choreographed movement. We limit our program to under 23 actors – everyone has a unique role or roles. FALL 2022 Inspired by “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas,” The Grunch tells the story of Rudy Grunch, a grumpy 6th grader who always feels like an outsider. When the entire school gets excited about the annual school musical, he comes up with a perfect plan to ruin it for everyone; he’ll steal the sets, costumes and lights the night before it opens. ‘Bewitched, Bothered & Bewildered’ concert set for July 16 at St. Andrew’s

Vocalists Cameron Dobson and Mary-Alexandra Onstad will perform jazz standards and sing-along music July 16 at 5:30 p.m., in an outdoor “Pops on the Plaza” concert at the Church of St. Andrew, Marblehead. Dobson and Onstad, both sopranos, will perform “Bewitched, Bothered & Bewildered” by Rodgers and Hart, as well as “I Got Rhythm” by George Gershwin, “Stardust” by Hoagy Carmichael, “I Could Have Danced All Night” by Lerner and Loewe, and other favorites. They will be accompanied by Mary Jodice, music director at St. Andrew’s. Marblehead concert offers ‘great purpose in a dark time’

There was something for everyone at the Shelter My Soul concert Saturday night. New songs from the Chad Hollister Band and some old favorites from the Deb Larkin and Jeff Stout Jazz Quintet. A sparse but enthusiastic audience was on hand in the Performing Arts Center at Veterans Middle School. The concert benefited the Lynn Shelter Association which is raising money to rehabilitate a new space for the region’s homeless in neighboring Lynn. “This concert provides great purpose in a dark time,” declared The Rev. Clyde Elledge, rector of St. Andrew’s (Episcopal) Church and cochair of the event.
