Warwick Cinema reinventing itself post pandemic, launching Warwick TV

Courtesy Marblehead Museum Warwick Cinema, a landmark in Marblehead for more than 100 years, has survived the pandemic and is reinventing itself again. “We're thinking outside the box,” said Johnny Ray, who co-owns the Warwick and the adjoining restaurant ,The Beacon. “We’ll be doing events other than movies. Of course, we still do first-run movies all the time.” COVID-19 shut down cinemas for months and slashed profits as people shied away from public indoor spaces. Abbot Public Library schedules Sept. 10 move, details plans for renovation

Abbot Public Library Executive Director Kimberly Grad submitted the following details behind the library's move to the Eveleth School to make way for its multi-million dollar renovation. In preparation for the move to the Eveleth School, 3 Brook Road, Abbot Public Library will close at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10. The former elementary will be the library's temporary space during the renovation of its Pleasant Street location. Me&Thee Music announces plans to kick off its 53rd season with Marblehead’s best known musical duo, Mason Daring and Jeanie Stahl, on Friday, Sept. 9. In her life, Marblehead resident Ginny Morton excelled at recruiting people and delegating tasks for the various Marblehead Little Theatre productions and projects that she led or got herself involved in over the years. Her passion and dedication behind each was contagious, giving others the feeling that their contributions were valued and meaningful to the larger mission. Via the ABCs, ‘M is for Marblehead’ takes children on a tour of the town’s history, landmarks

A new picture book takes children on a history tour of Marblehead through the letters of the alphabet. Marblehead resident Garrett Callahan illustrated the pictures and penned the rhymes in "M is for Marblehead," a children's book that deploys amusing, fun rhymes and pictures to teach children the ABCs while exploring the town's history, traditions and landmarks. Marblehead firefighters, police to observe 21st anniversary of Sept. 11

The Marblehead fire and police departments will join others across the country in conducting a remembrance ceremony on Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. sharp on Memorial Park to commemorate the 21st anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and the subsequent losses suffered at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania. "This ceremony will be part of a nationwide salute to fallen firefighters, police officers and civilians, and to the extraordinary response to tragic events that have changed all of our lives," Marblehead Fire Chief Jason Gilliland said. For ages 7-12 MLT’s Children’s Theater productions are age-appropriate scripted musicals licensed from one of several companies who specialize in children’s theatrical titles. Each child will be cast with a speaking and singing part, usually with choreographed movement. We limit our program to under 23 actors – everyone has a unique role or roles. FALL 2022 Inspired by “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas,” The Grunch tells the story of Rudy Grunch, a grumpy 6th grader who always feels like an outsider.
