School Committee Chair Sarah Fox just released a statement naming Assistant Superintendent of Operations and Finance Michelle Cresta the acting superinendent, “while the School Committee determines next steps for the interim role.” The announcement comes one day after Dr. John Buckey agreed to leave rhe district and the committee paid him nearly $175,000.
The School Committee has complete faith that Ms. Cresta and the current leadership team will take all necessary actions to ensure a successful opening of the coming school year and we look forward to supporting them,” the statement continued.
Fox declined to answer questions about how the decision to name Cresta was made.
Cresta has worked as assistant superintendent since 2019.
