Effective April 24, Elaine Leahy is the new executive director of Sustainable Marblehead, theo organization announced recently.
Leahy replaces Louise Bullis Yarmoff, who had held the position since August 2021.

A marketing and communications professional, Leahy has been active in Sustainable Marblehead for several years, co-chairing both its education and conservation working groups.
Most recently, Leahy worked for Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish, where she founded its Creation Care Team. She has a wealth of experience in marketing, journalism and event planning in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors.
Leahy volunteers with many local organizations, including the Marblehead Conservancy, SPUR, Marblehead Little Theatre, and she also served on the board for the Marblehead Festival of Arts.
She, her husband, and children enjoy spending time in the beautiful coastal spots and green spaces in Marblehead and sailing their Townie.
