  • I am saddened by the death of my longtime friend and neighbor, Dave. He was a terrific guy who loved the Town of Marblehead and proud to do his part in keeping up anything that he could do to maintain the quality of life for the rest of us. I always knew who it was when I would see him around town as I approached him, because he had a very distinctive stride, I would beep, he would turn, smile and wave hello. I want his family to know that I care.

  • Dave & I were keeping up by phone every other week; and ran into each other around town, literally every day. We had many conversations the last two years. Unfortunately, the last time I saw him was a few weeks ago or so… pulled over to talk to him. It was cold that day; and I reamed him a new one for not having a jacket on. He raised his hands in the air & says, “I finally got the ok from the doc to eat whatever I want!” I says, “bullshit!” We laughed; but I knew that meant, it wouldn’t be long now. I asked him that day when could I stop by his mom’s to see him…no answer. I got sidetracked with life for a few weeks; but then, ironically I texted him last week. No answer. I gave him a couple of days cause he didn’t like texting. I then called him but got no answer. I tried calling back, still no answer. I left a voicemail. Thursday, the 26th a friend mentioned him having passed. I burst into tears. I never got to say goodbye. Our last conversation was as good as it ever was though…full of sarcasm & wit flowing from both sides. We were real with each other & it was refreshing. He loved his dog & was always in support of the underdog. His many years of sobriety shined brightly upon his character. He was a true friend…and I am deeply saddened by his loss. He will be missed greatly.

  • Dear Cameron family,
We are very saddened to learn of Dave’s passing. I miss seeing his big white truck to drive by. For the longest time I’d be out walking my dog and almost daily as Dave would be heading home from work, he’d see me walking and pull over. He’d shut his truck off, and we’d chit chat and have a good laugh. He’d either have his buddy Milo with him or he was on his way home to see him. I will take comfort in knowing Dave is no longer suffering, but will forever miss his wit and “that grin” of his! Sending our love, heartfelt condolences and hugs to his family and friends.
