Donna Trask Hurd, 72, of Marblehead, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8, in her home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Douglas Hurd with whom she shared 50 years of marriage.

Born in Quincy, Donna was the daughter of the late Paul, and Camille (Hopkins) Trask.

She was the devoted mother of Joshua Hurd (Fatima Hurd), Elizabeth Harris (Maurice Harris), and Caitlin Hurd (Kyle Sosebee); the cherished grandmother of Chloe, Ashley, William, Zaida, Arrisa, and Raymond; and the dear sister of Richard Trask (Janet Trask). Several nieces and nephews also survive her.

Donna grew up in Quincy, and graduated from North Quincy High School with the class of 1968. She raised her family in Marblehead. She started her career as a medical surgical nurse at Mass General, became a director of nursing at various nursing homes, and most recently worked as a Public Policy Research Manager at ABT Associates.

She volunteered for many years for the Greater Lynn Foster Care Review Board as a community advocate. She enjoyed weaving and fiber arts, road trips, camping and Cape Cod most of all. She was a fierce advocate for her family and cherished her time with family and friends.
