To celebrate the start of Hanukkah Sunday, Dec. 18, Temple Emanu-El in Marblehead held a community menorah lighting.
The event featured donuts (sufganiyot), latkes, dreidel games and a performance by magician George Saterial.
Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of lights, continues for eight nights, through Sunday, Dec. 25.
