Lucky the Leprechaun, along with the Boston Celtics’ 1981 NBA Championship trophy, were the star attractions as the Friends of Marblehead Basketball hosted the first annual Tip-Off Night in the gym at Marblehead High School on Friday, Dec. 9.
Attendees also got to meet and play with the boys’ and girls’ varsity basketball teams, challenge their teachers to shooting contests and compete for the coveted title of “Best Foul-Shooter of Marblehead.”
Dr. Timothy DiFrancesco, owner and operator of TD Athletes Edge, former trainer of the Los Angeles Lakers, also hosted an interactive session on conditioning and nutrition.
Co-sponsors of the event were the Marblehead Girls Travel Basketball League, Marblehead Youth Basketball Association and Marblehead Recreation and Parks Department.
