Mrs. Doris (Crosby) Reebenacker, age 91, of Peabody, formerly of Marblehead and Stuart, Florida, passed away on Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, at Continuing Care at Brooksby Village. Doris was the beloved wife of the late Noel J. Reebenacker, with whom she shared 68 years of marriage.
Born in Wakefield, she was the daughter of the late Wendell and Ruth (Spear) Crosby. She graduated from Reading High School as the Class of 1949 President. After marrying her high school sweetheart, Noel, they settled in Marblehead in 1958.
Primarily a homemaker raising four sons, Doris also served as an administrative assistant with her husband’s real estate development company after his retirement as math teacher and head football coach at Marblehead High School. She loved skiing, golf and tennis.
Doris was the devoted mother of Karl Reebenacker and his wife, Gail, of Westminster, South Carolina; Keith A. Reebenacker of Methuen, Eric Reebenacker of St. Cloud, Florida, and Steven Reebenacker and his wife, Kathy, of Beverly; the dear sister of the late Robert Crosby and Marjorie Simpter; the cherished grandmother of seven grandchildren and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours were held on Friday, Nov. 11 at Eustis & Cornell of Marblehead, 142 Elm St., followed by a funeral service in the funeral home and reception following the funeral service at the Gerry 5 VFA, 210 Beacon St., Marblehead.
